The Space and Power Research Group meets at the XXI ENANPUR in Curitiba (PR)
On May 21, 2025, the Space and Power Research Group, coordinated by Professor Deborah Werner and Professor Fábio Oliveira, held a working meeting during the XXI National Meeting of the National Association of Graduate Studies and Research in Urban and Regional Planning (ENANPUR). Students affiliated with the group, along with invited guests and alumni, shared the progress of the research projects in which they are involved.
During the meeting, actions were outlined to guide the group’s activities for the 2025–2027 work cycle. Among these are the regular organization of workshops and in-person/remote meetings based in the JMM Building, headquarters of IPPUR. The main goal of these gatherings is to deepen theoretical and methodological discussions related to the group’s lines of research. In terms of training, computational and statistical tools will be incorporated into complementary courses aimed at improving the handling and representation of empirical evidence relevant to the academic production of both faculty and students. This effort will be combined with the resumption of the Revista Política e Planejamento Regional (RPPR), coordinated editorially by professors from the group.
The meeting also served to identify the most relevant academic events for the upcoming cycle, with the aim of preparing and presenting the group’s research outputs—including those related to outreach and field activities—in thematic panels and sessions. Faculty members also committed to strengthening institutional dialogues with governmental agencies in Brazil and Latin America, as well as expanding the group’s network with institutions from the Global North. These efforts aim to consolidate the internationalization of the Space and Power Research Group through academic exchanges, internships, and research missions.
