Public Policies and Territorial Provision of Public and Collective Goods and Services

The aim is to advance a deeper discussion on the need for providing public, collective, and common goods, services, and infrastructure to enable a different social production of space.

Given the level of social and spatial injustice, inequalities, and deprivation of income, wealth, property, and access to essential goods and services in Brazil, studies are being developed to guide the adequate provision of social goods, services, and infrastructure and means of collective consumption. This is to build inter- and intra-regional coherence, achieving higher levels of physical-territorial, economic, social, and political integration and cohesion.

The project assesses the possibilities for mobilizing resources, assets, and capacities toward a more inclusive and democratic governance. It examines the role of infrastructure in transforming urban-regional spaces and identifies and systematizes successful experiences in the provision of public and collective goods, services, and infrastructure across the territory.
