Paula Menezes Salles de Miranda

Paula Menezes Salles de Miranda is a PhD candidate (2024) in Urban and Regional Planning at the Institute of Urban and Regional Planning and Research (IPPUR) of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), where she is part of the Space and Power Research Group. She earned her degree in Architecture and Urbanism from UFRJ (2014), including an exchange program at the École Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Versailles (2011-2012), and obtained a master’s degree in Urbanism from UFRJ’s Graduate Program in Urbanism (PROURB) in 2017.
She has professional experience in architecture and urban planning projects, as well as in teaching undergraduate courses. She was a substitute professor at the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF) and currently holds the same position in the Department of Architecture and Urbanism at the School of Industrial Design (ESDI) of the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ).
Her doctoral research explores the commercial logic surrounding parks in Brazil, focusing on the growing trend of service concessions in these public spaces. The study seeks to understand the development of the park management market in Brazil and the key players involved in this process.
