Martin Scarpacci is a PhD. Candidate from the Institute for Urban and Regional Research and Planning of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (IPPUR-UFRJ, Brazil); Master in Urban Studies from the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences (FLACSO, Ecuador); and Architect by the Faculty of Architecture, Planning and Design of the National University of Rosario (FAPyD-UNR, Argentina).

His work focuses on the production of the Latin American territory within the framework of capitalist globalization. Among his lines of research are the study of space, urbanization, uneven development, expanded accumulation and dispossession, and unequal economic and ecological exchange between the center and the periphery. His doctoral research analyses the space produced and dominated by agribusiness in the La Plata basin with structured coherence in the Rosario region in Argentina.
