Orientation: Carlos Brandão

Mariana Bonadio is a Phd Candidate in Urban and Regional Planning (2019) at the Institute for Urban and Regional Research and Planning of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (IPPUR/UFRJ). She holds a master degree in Sustainable Territorial Development (2013) by the international consortium EM Stede (UniPd; KU Leuven; Paris 1- Sorbonne; UCDB), a specialization degree in Epistemologies of the South (2018) by the Latin American Council of Social Sciences (CLACSO), and a degree in Architecture and Urbanism (2011) by the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR). She is also a member of the Labá Research Group – Law, Space & Politics at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro Faculty of Law (FND / UFRJ)

She develops research circumscribed by the debate on the production of knowledge about space-time and ethical-political dimensions of justice, centered on the meaning-mattering of bodies/subjects in interface with Political Economy approaches. Her current thesis research is oriented as a theoretical and epistemic intervention at critical perspectives of geo-history and geopolitics articulated, mainly, by feminist philosophy, theories of performativity and by the new “materialist turn” grounded on the ontological reorientation of relationality and indeterminacy in the field of Science, Technology and Society studies.
