This book is the result of a collective effort by the Latin American Socioeconomic Spatial Development Network (Redsla) and the Clacso Working Group “Development, Space, and Global Capitalism.” They aim to address the current Latin American reality by dialectically relating the process of structural transformation of global capitalism with the constraints arising from historical trajectories and blocks, class structures, and the political-social power correlations of the countries in the region, in order to advance the generation of a conceptual device of an analytical-propositional nature.
It studies the new economic-political and spatial realities and challenges in the context of the dramatic global geoeconomic-political shift toward a new multipolar modality of globalization, as well as the underlying shift in the North-South and South-South power geometries.
