
X Latin American and Caribbean Conference on Social Sciences 2025, Bogotá
The #CLACSO2025 edition, focused on “Horizons and Transformations for Equality,” will take place in Bogotá, the city where CLACSO was founded in October 1967 and the capital of a country with a long history of activities, projects, and allied institutions.
It will feature open and special panels with international guests, keynote speeches and dialogues with prominent figures from the political, academic, cultural, and social fields, as well as training workshops, panels, and roundtables. Additionally, there will be an international book fair for social sciences and humanities, an international film cycle, and other special events.
The Latin American and Caribbean Conference of Social Sciences is the largest academic and political gathering of social sciences and humanities worldwide. Previous conferences were held in Recife, Brazil (1999); Guadalajara, Mexico (2001); Havana, Cuba (2003); Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (2006); Cochabamba, Bolivia (2009); Mexico City, Mexico (2012); Medellín, Colombia (2015); Buenos Aires, Argentina (2018); and Mexico City, Mexico (2022). In previous editions, which coincided with the Council’s General Assemblies, various topics were addressed according to the political and social contexts of the region. In 2025, the main themes of the Conference will be: Democracies, Resistances, Communities, Rights, and Peace.
