29th IPPUR Week, from October 7 to 11, 2024

“Urban and Regional Planning and Public Management in Times of Disaster Capitalism” is the theme of the 29th IPPUR Week, which will take place from October 7 to 11, 2024, at the Institute of Urban and Regional Planning and Research (IPPUR) at UFRJ, on the 5th floor of the Jorge Moreira Machado building (formerly the Rectorate Building).

The 2024 edition highlights a context of rapid transformations and great uncertainties, with crises that threaten the future of human and non-human life on our planet. The recurrence of environmental crimes and disasters, driven by a financialized, extractivist, and predatory economic development model, will serve as the starting point for diverse and thought-provoking debates throughout the week.

The Space and Power Research Group will be actively participating in the event with presentations in thematic sessions, open sessions, and poster displays. Furthermore, Professor Hipólita Siqueira represents the group as part of the event’s Organizing Committee.

The complete schedule and additional information can be found on the 29th IPPUR Week webpage.
